As more businesses are folding due to the new importation tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, it has become a time for political reflection. A Dallas, Texas wine business named Zerbina Wines was recently forced to shut down because of the policies. While the business owner, Bryan Howell lamented about the government’s harsh decision, netizens are questioning his political choice.

The entrepreneur explained that his business depends on supply from Italy, France, and Argentina. However, the unstable levy policies have put a strain on his supply, leading to the decision for him to close the business.

“The decision was made for me when I can’t continue to work my supply chain as I need to. When I can’t work the money as I need to, the business is not viable.”

Howell told CBS News that his suppliers have backed out of doing business with him as they can’t ascertain pricing and a viable business plan. On top of that, he has lost financial support. “The banks won’t give me money. The Europeans won’t give me the money,” he lamented.

The businessman added that he was “angry,” with the government and foretold that the day his business closes would be a “heartbreaking day.” Soon, the news went mainstream, and netizens reacted to it with a trip down memory lane to the past Election Day.

One user wrote, “I know it’s callous, but from now on my first question to these kinds of people is going to be ‘Did you vote for Kamala?’”

Another user added, “Yeah, I mean, we all shouted from the rooftops what putting him back in office would mean, and people did it anyway. This is all the leopards eating faces.”

A third person questioned, “Did you vote for Trump? He told you what he was going to do, Kamala told you what he would do. The experts in economics told you what the impact of Trump’s policies would do… FAFO.” A fourth user replied, “He probably voted for Trump.”

The new levy has affected both voters of Trump and non-voters and even made some Trump supporters renounce their support. Recently, an Arkansas farmer who was a past MAGA  supporter was spotted flying a “Trump 2024” flag upside down.

An anonymous person filmed the flag flying upside down on the farmer’s land, explaining how the owner had always proudly flown it. However, the flag was turned downwards because the administration ruined exportation for farmers after China retaliated with 34% tariffs.

More and more people are getting hit by the tariffs, and it is yet to be known if the government will review its decision.
