The Switch version of Animal Crossing was due out this year, unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. During the Nintendo direct at E3, it was confirmed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has now been pushed back until March 20th, 2020.

Nintendo have asked us to wait a little longer than expected for them to give us Animal Crossing in order to make it the best possible game they can hope to deliver. I’m fine with that, I’m disappointed, but as I’ve said countless times, I’d much rather games are delayed and we are given a finished, polished product.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom though, we did get a good look at some gameplay thanks to a new trailer:

It looks great. I can’t wait to run countless errands for Tom Nook just to get my house looking that little bit better. Here’s hoping the NES games from the past return as well. Either way, it’s been far too long since we’ve had a proper Animal Crossing game. March can’t come soon enough.
