So far, Anime Expo 2018 is looking to be an awesome event. Alongside a possible first look at Castlevania Season 2, news has been revealed that the con will be home to at least two exclusive US animated premieres.

First up will be Kyoto Animation’s latest feature film, Liz and the Blue Bird. According to the synopsis, the film tells the story of two girls who discover a priceless treasure beyond friendship. A brilliant, yet fleetingly beautiful moment. The film is based on Ayano Takeda’s coming-of-age novel Sound! Euphonium, Liz and the Blue Bird and will be directed by Naoko Yamada. Yamada is known for her work on the critically-acclaimed title A Silent Voice, which was also produced by Kyoto Animation.

The other known premiere will be for the upcoming original anime series, Sirius the Jaeger! As detailed in the trailer above, the story will revolve around a unique group of vampire hunters, known simply as Jaegers. Their adventures will see them engage in deadly battle over a mysterious holy arc only known as “The Arc of Sirius”. The series will be directed by Directed by Masahiro Ando (Sword of the Stranger, Snow White with the Red Hair, Under the Dog), featuring original character design work by Kinu Nishimura.

Anime Expo 2018 will take place from July 5 to July 8 at the Los Angeles Convention center. For more information, be sure to check back to the site for updates, as well as all of your other nerdy news and needs.
