The story follows young author, Lowen Ashleigh, who accepts to finish a beloved book series started by best-selling author, Verity Crawford. Verity’s husband, Jeremy, hires Lowen to complete the book series after his wife was involved in a mysterious accident. Lowen moves in with Jeremy and his son, Crew, and soon learns that all is not what she thought it to be.

The vibes of the novel are comparable to that of Gone Girl, and have had readers on the edge of their seats. Colleen Hoover found success with her latest adaptation, It Ends With Us. Book lovers across social media have been debating Hathaway’s casting in the role. The book clearly describes the character of Verity as having blue eyes and bright blonde hair. While Anne could don a wig for the role, some still think she doesn’t feel right for the part. However, Hathaway did recently star in the film adaptation of another viral book hit, The Idea of You. So, she’s not inexperienced when it comes to bringing book characters to life.
