I absolutely love seeing someone online get the karma they so deserve. In many cases, these people are usually Karen-type women who go out of their way to make life a living hell for everyone else. Sometimes, these people are influencers in other countries who can talk the talk but not back any of it up. Fortunately, one of these influencers, Johnny Somali, was recording themselves when they decided to dare the entirety of Korea to take a punch at him, and it made its way to Reddit.
The video begins with streamer Johnny Somali recording himself being a nuisance on the streets of Korea. He evidently asks different Korean residents to “take a swing at him,” and then is incredibly surprised when some do. In fact, most of the above video consists of Korean citizens taking their punch at him. Unfortunately, this isn’t where the story ends because Somali’s presence in the country has caused much anger.
Since this video was taken, Somali has been arrested on obstruction of business as well as had his passport revoked while the government investigates other issues involving him, including drug-related and sexual harassment charges.
“I read he isn’t allowed to leave the country and Korean streamers are setting up bounties hunting him in the streets to get another punch in, so he’s hiding.
Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person”
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like he will be allowed to leave the country for a long time, especially now that there are talks of government officials up for reelection who want to use him as an example.
While I do not condone any of the influencer’s actions on camera, I do hope that he is able to safely come home. However, considering the extent of everything he is being charged for, I doubt he will be getting out anytime soon, especially considering how seriously other Koreans are taking it.
“As soon as his punching bag status was given to him crowd funds started to pay the legal fees of those who punched him. Well organised if you ask me.”
It seems to me that we will be hearing lot more about Johnny Somali very soon.
