Respawn Entertainment has released a trailer for Apex Legends crossover event with Final Fantasy VII, including a glimpse at the pricing of the cosmetics. Originally spotted by Sports Illustrated, the trailer shows the cost of the event loot boxes, along with the number of items in the collection, which is 36. Previous events only included 24 and the reason this is important is that getting every item in the collection guarantees the new Buster Sword mythic heirloom item. Purchasing every item in the Final Fantasy VII event in Apex Legends will cost over $300; here’s how.

The Buster Sword mythic heirloom is one of the 36 items that can drop in the Apex Legends X Final Fantasy VII event, but the odds on that item are about 1%, with it being guaranteed if you get all 36 items. Unlike previous mythic heirlooms, this one works on every character and will not be obtainable after this event. The trailer shows that four event packs cost 4,000 Apex Coins (about $40 USD), but there is an offer to get the first set of four for 1,600 Apex Coins. This means the other 32 will cost $320. While there might be a way to obtain one or two packs for free by playing the event, this still puts the total cost above $300.

For players who are lucky enough to get the Buster Sword from a pack before the 36th, there is also the exclusive One-Winged Angel Death Box, which can only be obtained by completing the entire collection.

There are a few ways to lessen the cost, like buying Apex Coins in bulk, but even that only reduces the price by a small percentage. Purchasing the $100 USD Apex Coin pack, which has 10,000 Apex Coins, only nets you an additional 1,500 Apex Coins. Even with that bonus, you could still buy three full-price copies of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth instead of these cosmetics.

Apex Legends is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
