Apple’s ‘California Streaming’ September event saw the Cupertino-based company release highly anticipated products. However, it’s time to look forward to new products coming in October 2021, expected to be announced in the Apple October event.
Apple had unveiled an iteration of the baseline iPad and a fresh redesign of the iPad Mini. The company also released the Apple Watch Series 7 (sorta), and of course, the iPhone 13 lineup. Although fans were somewhat thrilled with what they got, anticipation around more products to drop in the Apple October Event 2021 has not dampened.
What We Know About the Apple October Event
Judging by the way Apple runs its events, the Apple October Event is projected to hold October 12, but there have been no official reports on the event itself. According to MacWorld, Apple is running a Back to School/Back to University campaign where it uses its AirPods as free additions for students seeking to buy new Macs and other Apple devices. Since the Higher Education campaign ends on September 27 in the US and October 11 in the UK, it makes sense that Apple would give off older AirPods as additions to Mac purchases in ‘clearance’ style instead of newly released ones.
What to Expect in the Apple October Event
Last year’s event was held on October 13 and saw the release of a few iPhones, HomePod Mini and MagSafe accessories. However, we have already had our iPhone release this year. Last November, the tech giants held a November event, which focused on the Mac lineup, introducing the MacBook Air, 13‑inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini, all with the Apple M1 chip.
Hence, we have reason to believe the Apple October event will be keeping a key focus on the Mac. But, we should also expect one accessory at least too.
Without further ado, here are the possible devices Coming to the Apple October Event.
MacBook Pro (14in)
The MacBook Pros are expected to be getting monumental redesigns this month, after five long years of using the same chassis design. The redesign is definitely long-overdue for most, and we can’t wait to see what Apple does about the TouchBar, screen size, thickness, and ports selection.
Many of Apple’s products can be purchased using Apple’s credit card in the US or using Apple’s financing options in the UK (provided by Barclays Bank). The average APR is around 14% and borrowers must have a stable income history and a positive credit history. When purchasing with finance you could consider a loan as a cheaper option. Loans of $1,000 can be provided from as little as 3% to people with poor credit histories from loan matching services like now loan or others in both the US and UK.
Apple had already updated its 13-inch MacBook Pros with the MI chip, but there are reports that an even bigger update is coming to the smaller-screen Mac. A redesign could see the laptop screen size upped to 14 inches, which is a welcome addition, and well, there’s also the M1X chip, which is expected to be a beast of a processor.
MacBook Pro (16in)
This is one product that is all but confirmed for a release in the Apple October Event. The large screen MacBook Pro has not received any redesigns or updates since November 2019. Yes, no M1 chip in this one yet. But, judging from the success of Apple’s in-house processor, the M1X or M2 could make a debut here also with some cool redesigns.
Mac Mini
Apple will also probably release another specced-up iteration of the Mac Mini with a new chip. However, few reports indicate that there will be any major updates to the look of this iconic device, and frankly, not too many people are asking for one. However, Jon Prosser has predicted that the Mac Mini could be coming in a significantly thinner chassis and a newly redesigned top. Fingers crossed for that one.
AirPods 3
Here is another device long overdue for an upgrade. The AirPods lineup has not been revisited since March 2019 and is starting to look a bit old compared to newer releases of true wireless headphones.
AirPods have been sensational since its debut in December 2016. These bad boys have been selling like hot cakes on the global market, leading to Apple completely running away with the most significant piece of the market share back then. But they have started to lose a bit of that now. Apple will look to continue its dominance, so it would almost definitely pull these out in the upcoming Apple October Event. And when could be a better time? These make good Christmas presents, and it would make sense for Apple to get these out just in time for them to start appearing on wish lists.
The redesign is rumored to include shorter stems, silicone air tips, a shorter case but no noise isolation, which will remain a pro version feature. AirPods are usually preferred for ease of use and not necessarily for their sound quality, but Apple would also make improvements in that regard. All in all, we can’t wait to see this.
