Far Cry 6 wrapped up with a spectacular DLC, albeit with a mediocre main storyline. Player’s got to see Giancarlo Esposito portraying the main antagonist Anton Castillo. The title did good numbers for the most part, and we got to see a sneak peek of Vaas toward the end. But what’s next? Is Ubisoft going to give us a Far Cry 7? Is it in development?
Far Cry 7 Development Hasn’t Started
R6Script Leaks has done a pretty good job of giving the gaming community a slew of juicy leaks. And it was today that the Twitter user and probably a Ubisoft employee decided to give us an update on Far Cry 7. So, what’s the scoop on the next iteration of Far Cry?
Sad to spoil things, but Ubisoft currently isn’t working on a Far Cry 7. Ubisoft is pretty much busy with their upcoming Ubisoft Forward Event. As you know, the company decided to call it quits on E3 2023, along with some other conglomerates like SEGA.
So far, we are well aware that Ubisoft is working on the next Assassin’s Creed game, titled Mirage, with Basim at the forefront. The title is supposedly going back to its original Assassin’s Creed roots but in Baghdad.
R6Script Leaks has also shed light on the upcoming Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. From the leaks, it’s obvious that the game is an action-adventure First-Person Shooter. We hope Ubisoft doesn’t copy over game mechanics and systems that it’s known to do from their Far Cry IP.
Without further digressing, Far Cry 7 is currently on hold. Ubisoft will probably come along and start development on the next Far Cry title as soon as it’s done dusting its hands with its current lineup of video games.
Will we get to see Far Cry 7 within the next 5 years? Hard to say. But we could bet on the announcement trailer, if anything. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and stay tuned for more updates on the NerdStash.
