A video has surfaced online of a citizen interrupting Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs during an Arizona Diamondbacks game to ask how she paid her way in.

The viral video, posted on the social media platform X, has quickly circulated and drawn both supporters and adversaries over her response. It also sparked a larger conversation concerning the state’s politics as a whole and her role within them.

The video above features Governor Hobbs and another gentleman in the stands at an Arizona Diamondbacks game when another spectator gets her attention and asks, “Hey, I was just wonderin, did you get here on your money, our money, or Mexico’s money?”

In response to the question, Hobbs replied with, “None of the above,” before turning to continue watching the game. As the resident continues to ask, Hobbs replies again with, “It’s none of the above. It’s none of your business.”

Katie Hobbs has been serving as the 24th governor of Arizona since 2023 as a member of the Democratic Party. Within her first several months in office, she allegedly vetoed over 100 bills in relation to measures that would expand the state’s immigration enforcement,a bipartisan housing supply proposal, and even put restrictions on officials serving as lobbyists.

Reactions to Arizona Resident Calling Out Governor Hobbs at Diamondbacks Game

Commenters in the replies below the video were not very happy about Hobbs’ response, with one person saying, “LOL, it is hilarious when they get caught off guard! They don’t know what say because they are guilty as sin!,” i reference to her being a Democrat.

Other commenters turned the tables a bit, with one comparing the issue to Donald Trump’s golf stays at Mar a Lago, saying, “I’m glad to hear conservatives are against politicians doing things in their free time because they theoretically used public funds. Surely you will complain about Mar a Lago becoming a 2nd White House and all the golf Trump plays.”

Some commenters were a bit more conservative in their opinions, with one person in particular replying to the news with, “If you notice. Corrupt election thief Katie Hobbs don’t need a protection booth for her safety and security because she is part of the deep state establishment. They’re not going to bother her because she’s one of them—A thief, liar, money launderer, deceiver, snake, etc.“

Currently, there is no proof that Governor Katie Hobbs was able to attend the game using money either within or outside of the government’s funding.
