An anti-ICE protest in Arizona took a chaotic turn when protesters flipped the script and pushed back against ICE agents attacking them. Anti-ICE protests around the country are becoming more chaotic with each passing day that passes. Now, protesters are no longer standing in silence while ICE agents attack them, but are attacking them back.
A video posted on Reddit in the early hours of Thursday, June 12, showed the moment a crowd of protesters was in an aggressive face-off with at least five ICE agents. The incident took place at the ICE field office in Tucson, Arizona.
One agent approached the crowd and attempted to spray what appeared to be pepper spray at them, but they instantly retaliated with a projectile bear spray that made the agent retreat.
The crowd of protesters steadily advanced on, protecting themselves with face masks and body shields. One ICE officer attempted to shoot at the protesters, but was fended off with a piece of long metal railing.
Protesters could be heard shouting “F*ck you!” and one ICE agent retaliated by yelling “F*ck you!” back at him and flipping him off. Eventually, the crowd steadily closed in on the ICE agents, who kept retreating.
The video sparked outrage from numerous citizens online, who believe the protesters should have been even more aggressive in their retaliation. One user commented, “I’ve been waiting for the protesters to use bear spray against them. Glad to see it.” Another user added: “Looks like small d**ked incels cosplaying as men to me. Should give them even more hell, if that’s the case.”
More users commended the protesters’ use of bear spray to protect themselves. One wrote: “Is that mace they’re using? If so, f*cking right. Give them a taste of their own medicine. F*ck ICE, f*ck Nazis. ACAB. Stand tall.”
One user asked if America has now become a war zone, adding, “Embarrassing moments for the land of the free and brave (allegedly).” Another added, “Watching that Nazi getting saturated with bear spray was pure catharsis.”
Another similar incident occurred in Pasadena when protesters discovered the hotel where ICE agents were staying for the night. Rather than get violent with their approach, they simply staged a peaceful protest outside the hotel and dubbed it the “No Sleep for ICE Protest.”
In a viral video, a reporter captured the scene outside the Hilton Garden Inn Arcadia. Numerous protesters could be seen chanting “No sleep for ICE,” while banging loudly on chairs and making loud noises in an attempt to wake the ICE agents up. According to the context provided in the Los Angeles subreddit, the ICE agents left shortly after.
