Popular online survival game Ark: Survival Evolved has launched as an Xbox One game preview. The game will contain all of the content from the original PC version as well as content exclusive to the Xbox One version. The full Xbox One version of Ark is expected in June 2016 via the ID@Xbox program.
Ark: Survival Evolved was first available in early access on Windows PC in June of 2015. The game follows an action-adventure survival format but includes unusual elements like the ability to ride dinosaurs while gathering resources and crafting needed equipment. The game’s roaming dinosaurs and complex survival mechanics proved immediately popular with players, earning $10 million in revenues in its first week. The current Ark experience is the result of frequent updates and the challenges of supporting 2.5 million PC players, according to a press release from Studio Wildcard.
