With political tensions running high these days, the last thing anyone wants to see is a squad of armed cops storming into their local gym. But in San Antonio, Texas, several Planet Fitness members had their workouts abruptly disrupted when a group of rifle-wielding policemen walked in yelling, without any warning. “I didn’t get to do my workout because they scared everyone. I guess I can’t work out anymore,” remarked a man who caught the cops on his phone and uploaded to Reddit.
Besides looking for someone with an arrest warrant on their head, the police might have been looking for ‘illegal’ immigrants, considering how often people are getting detained and deported recently. However, it does appear the men’s faces are not covered with masks like ICE. Oddly enough, though, the uploader decided to add emojis to censor the cops’ identities. And of course, that sparked some outrage in the comment section.
“Why are we covering their faces?” questioned a top-upvoted commenter. Some suspect that OP is maybe MAGA or some other alt-right-centric individual. I agree with one person who supposes that the Texan probably did it to avoid any legal trouble with the authorities. After all, no one wants to get in trouble with the cops for simply uploading something that happened in public onto the internet. Still, many think the San Antonio man’s in the wrong for ‘stooping low’ to protect the faces of the armed trouble-making police officers. “Hey dude, make sure you zip up Trump’s pants when you’re done,” snarkily remarked a commenter.
The majority of the comment section continued to get spicier with both anti-leftist and right remarks from Redditors. Meanwhile, some others tried to throw in a joke here and there: “No, they’re just trying to make sure you do your crunches right.” “Oh, look! A stupid waste of tax dollars!” said another. A third chimed in, saying, “They are just there to inspect all the c**ks for like trans stuff and things…” As ridiculous as that sounds, it wouldn’t be too hard to believe with all the chaos the government and authorities have been causing in today’s society. Posts like this just go to show that no one’s safe, even when they’re just working out at Planet Fitness.
