When there’s a FromSoftware game, there’s a Moonlight Sword. Yep, just like in previous Armored Core and other Souls games, the Moonlight Sword makes a comeback in Armored Core 6. This time around, one of the most powerful arm Weapons is called the Light Wave Blade IA-CO1W2: Moonlight. Let’s learn how you can unlock the AC6 version of Moonlight Sword in this Armored Core 6 guide.

“Light-wave blade developed long ago by the Rubicon Research Institute. Fuses laser and pulse technology to accompany slashing attacks with waves of light. Charge to increase output, emitting larger waves of light.” – in-game description

The Moonlight Sword is unlocked at the “Reach the Coral Convergence” Mission 34 in Armored Core 6 Chapter 4. The Light Wave Blade can be found in a container near a broken bridge on the Institute City map. However, you will want to prepare properly before tackling this mission because it is filled with powerful opponents.

From the start of the “Reach the Coral Convergence” mission, fly northwest until you see a highway in front of a cliff. Afterward, head west past the cliff and you should see a broken road. At the end of the road, there’s a huge arena and a broken bridge to your right. You can find the Armored Core 6 Moonlight Sword container just below the edge of the bridge.

The first enemies you will encounter on the Armored Core 6 map are the V.VI Materlock and G3 Wu Huahai. Afterward, in the arena, you need to take out six annoying mechanized wheel enemies that shoot out flame. The best way to dispatch them is by staying in the air as long as you can while bombarding them with missiles and rifle attacks.

Once you have unlocked the AC6 Moonlight Sword, make sure to clear the mission as well! Otherwise, you will not be able to claim it at the Garage and make it appear in the Parts menu. With that, comes the hardest part of the mission. You’ll have to take down the IB-01: CEL 240 boss. It’s a very agile mech that always flies around and harasses you with laser attacks. The fight has two phases and you’ll want to keep an eye out for when it unleashes a charged laser attack.

Here’s the stats for the Armored Core 6 Light Wave Blade IA-CO1W2 Moonlight Sword:

  • Slot Type: Arm Weapons
  • Attack Power: 615
  • Impact: 495
  • Consecutive Hits: 2
  • Weight: 2,200
  • EN Load: 544
