Arrogant California Fast Food Worker Throws Cash In Customer’s Face After Violating Company Policy: ‘Is That Not Stealing?’

It’s policy!

Drama in a fast food restaurant or a drive-thru is nothing new. Many times, it’s disgruntled customers who are acting out and refusing to listen to reason. However, one California woman caught a horribly rude employee seemingly being hostile toward her for none other than the fact that she was called out for breaking her company’s own policy. The worker didn’t appear to like that the customer asked for a refund, and instead of trying to make things right, she set off a chaotic scene that ended up on social media.

TikTok user @cici_1993_ recorded the interaction at a California fast food restaurant. It started in the drive-thru. On the sliding door there was a poster that clearly stated that a customer is entitled to a refund if they are not given their receipt. So, when the customer didn’t receive her receipt, she asked for her money back.

However, the employee was not happy about the situation. She came to the window, threw the cash into the car at the customer’s face, and then shut the window abruptly. That could have been the end of the story, but it was far from over.

“I’m about to get my money back,” the customer can be heard saying excitedly. “Here’s your money back,” the employee quickly stated before throwing it in her face. “Bye,” she added before turning and leaving. So, the customer moved her complaint inside.

The video cuts and the next scene is the customer confronting the worker inside the store at the cash register. She tells her that her refund was short “68 cents,” and asks for it back. “Here. I’ll give you $10. I see you’re broke,” the employee tells her as she opens up the cash register, pulls out a $10 bill and hands it over.

The customer keeps her cool, and reminds the employee that the policy clearly states that they can get a refund if they’re not given their receipt. “Okay. I can give you more if you want,” the worker arrogantly replies. “Sure. I’ll take some more money,” the customer shoots back. “All yours,” the employee responds as she grabs a handful of change and lays it on the counter.

Things take another dramatic turn when another customer steps in. The man confronts the woman asking for a refund. “You can leave,” he tells her. “You can get off of me,” she fires back. The two continue to argue as the video ends.

Meanwhile, TikTok was on her side. “A man should not be coming up to you like that in a threatening manner and that was him trying to assert dominance which is threatening,” one person commented. “That’s crazy! she acting like she owns the place and the money was coming out her own pocket!” another wrote. “Did she just give you more money from the register??? Is that not stealing from the store?” a third viewer pointed out.

What a strange set of interactions the California woman was put through to get her refund. It was clearly the employee’s fault for not following company rules, but it seems that she expected the customer to let it slide.
