A young Asian girl in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, got mocked in school by other students, who made fun of her eyes in a terrible display of racism. Thankfully, the girl’s mother has now provided an update, and fortunately for the girl, the internet has taken care of her Christmas gifts.
The update was shared online by TikToker FamJamDiaries. As previously reported, the woman uploaded a now-deleted clip to the platform in which her daughter breaks down as she remembers the racism she was subjected to while in school. They had “made fun of her Asian eyes.”
However, this time around, the loving mother gave an update on how the incident is being handled at the school. After thanking everyone who supported her and her daughter, she revealed that she had reached out to the school.
According to the Wisconsin woman, her daughter’s teacher got hold of the video, as well as the school’s principal and associate principal, a social worker, and even the school district superintendent. The situation was handled immediately, she revealed, and the racist bullying has stopped.
Should the situation resurface, the woman added, there will be more consequences for those behind this awful behavior. She then expressed her love for the school district and everyone who has accompanied her family throughout the years.
“I’m just very grateful that they looked into this situation immediately, and they didn’t brush it off to the side,” FamJamDiaries added.
Despite the disgusting mockery, the girl, according to her mother, “loves her eyes.” She is aware that people are mean, but she doesn’t let that define who she is.
Christmas Gifts Galore, Reactions
In a follow-up video, the Wisconsin mother shared that, after receiving many requests, she opened up an Amazon Gift List for her daughter. The internet then decided to do an amazing thing for her. They bought her, at the time of this article’s writing, a whopping 110 gifts.
The girl, reportedly named Adi, will now enjoy new clothes, a sewing machine for beginners, makeup, pencils, colors, and even an UNO card game. All thanks to the generosity of people who wanted to make her feel loved and special, which she is.
“So happy about that! gorgeous girl, may her blessings keep coming,” one user commented. Another one said, “Glad the school took it seriously because it is serious & needs to stop. Nice job mom.” A third one added, “People are mean. She is beautiful.”
While Adi went through a very tough moment, it is safe to say she will have a very happy Christmas. Beyond the gifts, she is loved by her family, and now by thousands online.
