Assassin’s Creed II, one of the most critically-acclaimed games in the Assassin’s Creed series, is free to keep on UPlay till April 17th. Ubisoft is offering the game as part of their Play Your Part, Play At Home Campaign currently going on. The campaign is offering a bunch of Ubisoft’s titles for free for limited times, including some greats like Rayman Legends and, in this case, Assassin’s Creed II. Ubisoft took to their social media to officially announce the news. If you’d like to claim the game, you can do so here.

Assassin's Creed

Assassin’s Creed II follows the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze during the height of the Renaissance in Italy. As an Assassin, you must fight for peace with a free will against the ancient Knights Templars, who desire peace through forceful means. Your family has been betrayed, and it’s up to you to become the Assassin you were meant to be and exact revenge. Along your journey, you’ll visit many iconic Italian locations such as Venice, Florence, and Tuscany. Back in the present, you’ll consider the story of Desmond Miles. This game continues his quest to discover how to put an end to the ancient war. It rages on into the 21st century, and Desmond is people’s only hope to stop the Knights Templar.

Overall, Assassin’s Creed II is an excellent entry in the franchise that anyone should play. Critics say the game is a fun and beautiful entry, with a charming hero and great gameplay to boot. If you want more details, you can find that on the game’s official page. As always, though, that’s not all the news that’s come out today. Also available now is Fallout 76 on Steam with its new Wastelanders update.

Will you be jumping into Assassin’s Creed II now that it’s free? If you’re like me and have played it, what did you think of it? Tell us your thoughts, and stay tuned here at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
