An Atlanta woman took to TikTok to express her disappointment after ordering from a Jamaican restaurant called Tastee Spoon, claiming the food she received was stale and inedible. In her video, she explained that she had been hungry after a long day out with her son and decided to order what she hoped would be a hearty meal through Uber Eats. But when the food arrived, she said she was shocked by its poor quality.
The plantains looked like “mushed up burnt pieces” that easily came apart as she dipped in a spoon. The fried chicken, which she picked apart with her hand, was “fully stale” and “dry.” The woman also complained that the cabbage and curry gravy tasted bad, while the rice was “weirdly sugary.”
The woman expressed frustration that the restaurant would serve food in such a condition, saying it reflected poorly on their customer service and food standards. She even tossed both plates of food into the trash, calling it “literally inedible.” Fortunately, she was able to get a refund for the order from Uber.
What People Are Saying About the Atlanta Woman’s Food Complaint
Several viewers agreed with her about the restaurant’s poor-quality food. “Go back up there cause they playing with you!!” one person commented. A second wrote, “I hate when restaurants give bad food. They know it’s bad.” A third remarked, “Omg good job calling them out. That food looks gross 🤮,” while a fourth said, “That’s 4 days old… I’m so sorry.”
Past customers also shared that the restaurant’s quality had declined over the years. “It used to be decent but they are very inconsistent. I got some messed up food from them a couple of years ago & ain’t been back since smh,” one comment read. Someone else added, “They used to be so good when they were in the Perimeter Mall a few years back. I have been hearing bad reviews from them lately!” Another longtime customer echoed that sentiment, writing, “They went downhill real bad. The food used to be SO good when it was inside Perimeter and even for a bit at the new location but the prices went UP and quality went down😭😭😭.”
