Following its initial manga release in 2009, the Attack on Titan anime turned Hajime Isayama’s work into a cult favorite, both in Japan and here in the west. The series took off so well that a number of spinoffs and even some video games have emerged to attempt to tackle the titan menace. More than some fans can keep track of, in fact, especially considering the merchandise and reading material comes from so many different sources. Luckily, a familiar studio by the name of Kodansha has the backs of fans everywhere with the official Attack on Titan Anthology.

Being an anthology, the book presents a collection of different short stories taking place within the Attack on Titan universe. This means that tons and tons of different authors are brought together within the pages, making the stories, artwork, and themes just as widely varied. Not to worry, though – each and every one of them was supervised and approved by Isayama. No soft Internet fanficitions here, people. What you can expect are, humorous short stories, tales of drama and awesome feats, emotional tear-jerkers, and cameos from series camera-hogs Eren and Misaka. These stories, however, focus mostly on new characters and new situations.

You won’t have to look hard to find the Attack on Titan Anthology. Your local bookstore or superstore might just have a copy sitting on the shelf, ready to be snatched up and devoured. Figuratively speaking. Do not attempt to actually eat the book. There’s also a digital edition available from Kodansha. Not that the anthology is expensive – a mere $20 will see the book in your hands.

Appetite still not satiated? The Nerd Stash has plenty more where that came from. Take a look through our comics, gaming, TV and movie news until you burst.
