Driving is already dangerous enough, but it becomes even more treacherous when tempers flare. Most people know it’s best to keep their cool and avoid getting too heated. However, some don’t get the memo. On a sunny day in Austin, a man accidentally encountered a short-tempered driver. Apparently, the angry driver didn’t like how slowly the Redditor was going. As if honking loudly wasn’t enough, the enraged Austin man decided to get out of his car and brandish his gun.
According to Redditor thadiusquest512, they were driving on MoPac while following the speed limit. As they prepared to turn left, a Toyota Tundra suddenly appeared behind them and began honking angrily. The frustrated driver then abruptly swerved around the Redditor to get ahead. However, both vehicles ended up stuck at the red light.
The Redditor decided to honk their car horn at the unnamed Austin man in response. “I decided to return the favor of honking by giving him a ‘shave and a haircut, two bits’ honk and another loooooong, annoying honk,” thadiusquest512 wrote.

One would think that honking back would be enough, but the angry driver took things to the next level. He brandished his gun out of his window and pointed it at the Redditor.
That wasn’t the end, though. While the Redditor failed to get recordings of the first incident, they noticed that the angry man wasn’t done venting his frustration. This time, they pulled out their phone to record.
As expected, the man soon got out of his car and brandished his gun once again. While angrily pointing his right hand at the Redditor, he kept his gun close to his body. “This made me laugh… If you can’t handle getting honked back at because you’re an impatient asshat, then you DEFINITELY don’t need a gun. At no point during my drive was I doing anything illegal,” thadiusquest512 wrote.
The Redditor didn’t intend to stay silent about the incident and reported it to the Austin Police Department. They said it took four days for the police to respond but didn’t provide further details.
The Redditor also posted the recording they filmed to the r/Austin subreddit. Seeing the angry driver’s childish behavior, other Redditors were not impressed. “What a dweeb,” one Redditor commented.
Others said that someone with anger issues shouldn’t have a license to own a gun. Some criticized APD’s slow response. “APD – ‘Not enough information to find the guy. Sorry!'” one Redditor said.
