Marvel’s Avengers Inc. #4 is landing on another suspect in the mystery of who killed David Cannon. This time, sometimes Avenger Janet Van Dyne and her partner find themselves at Moon Knight’s door. As the duo invades the Midnight Mission, they accuse the lunar hero of being a suspect in Cannon’s death. However, Moon Knight responds rather calmly to the accusation. In fact, he denies the charge but offers to aid the two in their search for the truth. Is he the missing piece Avengers Inc. needs to finally solve this murder mystery?

The Avengers Inc. series has followed Janet Van Dyne, AKA the Wasp, on a journey to become Marvel’s greatest detective. Her latest adventure finds the hero taking over the case of David Cannon, AKA Whirlwind. While imprisoned in The Raft, the villainous Whirlwind was murdered by an unseen assailant. Then, David rose from the dead as Vic Shade. Together, Vic Shade and Janet have been trying to put the pieces together of what happened to Cannon.

Avengers Inc #4 comes from writer Al Ewing and artist Leonard Kirk. It finds the detectives on the trail of Marc Spector, AKA Moon Knight. The antihero has quite the reputation for his form of taking justice. This makes him a perfect suspect in, well, anyone’s murder. However, as the duo accuses the lunar knight of David’s murder, Spector remarks that he did not do it. In fact, he claims that if he had killed David, then he would not have hidden the truth. This is something neither detective can really deny, and they end up enlisting him to help them solve the case.

Back To The Past

Of course, this issue of Avengers Inc. takes readers into the past to have Moon Knight help Janet and co. Jed MacKay and Alessandro Cappuccio’s Moon Knight #30 saw Marc Spector meet his end at the hands of Black Spectre. This has left the Midnight Mission vulnerable and left in the hands of some unlikely heroes. So, Cannon’s murder mystery has yet to catch up to the present Marvel timeline if Spector is still with us.

Avengers Inc. #4 is on sale now.
