A Deadpool & Wolverine and The Bachelorette promo ad is the most recent of Ryan Reynolds’ innovative marketing antics. The actor shared the clip on his Instagram page on Wednesday, and it caught the attention of The Bachelorette‘s Jenn Tran. The one-minute ad started with Hugh Jackman dressed as Wolverine, lying on a couch. Just as he was about to advertise the reality show, he backed out, questioning his role in the ad. However, Reynolds, dressed as Deadpool, tried to talk him back into it.
“You’re explaining to Bachelor Nation why our movie is the perfect date movie while holding this,” Deadpool told Wolverine before sniffing a rose.
Unfortunately, Wolverine remained unconvinced about why he should be the one promoting the show. “I’m not doing either of those,” he said. However, Deadpool responded, “Yes, you are because you are a confident, powerful person, and 18-49-year-old women are a super-important demo to us, no cap.” Still unable to convince Wolverine, Deadpool took matters into his own hands. He proceeded to address the Bachelor Nation while signaling the camera to zoom in on Wolverine’s butt without him knowing.
“Our movie has everything you love: You can really ZOOM IN on complex relationship dynamics. There’s ample amounts of cheeky humor, and I’m not gonna lie, it was quite a payday for us,” Deadpool said as the humorous Deadpool & Wolverine promo ad ended.
It turns out that Wolverine was only there because Deadpool promised him a chance to meet the newest Bachelorette, Tran, but he lied. Shortly after Reynolds shared the ad, The Bachelorette‘s Jenn Tran took to the comments section with her thoughts. She jokingly slammed the actor, calling him a liar.
“Wait, you told me that Wolverine didn’t want to meet me…I can’t believe you’d lie to me like this!” she wrote.
Fans couldn’t hold back their thoughts as the Deadpool & Wolverine promo ad left them in stitches. Many praised the marketing of the movie, expressing excitement about its release. Meanwhile, others found Reynolds’ character and the duo’s “bromance” hilarious. Deadpool & Wolverine will hit the theaters on July 26, 2024. If the ads and movie trailer are anything to go by, the movie should be a great hit. Some even say it could save Marvel, which has received criticism lately over the quality of its recent movies.
