A woman in Baltimore decided to take matters into her own hands after discovering that her daughter’s Halloween decorations had been stolen right from her front porch. Without a Ring camera of her own, she asked neighbors to check their security footage, and the recordings revealed a young girl had taken the package. This led the woman to wait outside the girl’s school the next day to confront her.

I was so upset when someone stole our package. I don’t have a ring camera but damn near all my neighbors do. So I went around asking them to check their videos. Saw this little girl and immediately went into mom mode. I planned to follow her home and talk to her parents, but I decided to just ask her for it back. I did lecture her about how dangerous that is and how she’s a beautiful black young queen. She told me she was threatened to steal it and I told her to let her parents or the school know if she was really being threatened. I hope I got through to her though. #stolenpackage #ringcam #theft #kidsoftiktok #baltimoreaccent

The mother had originally intended to follow the girl home to speak with her parents, but chose instead to ask for the stolen item back directly. When she asked the child to return the missing package, the youngster initially denied having any knowledge of it. The girl later caved in after a few exchanges and finally opened her backpack, pulled out the stolen item, and dropped it on the ground. The woman then gave her a stern but caring warning. “Everybody on this block got cameras on their house. Do you hear me? I want you to be safe… People not playing,” she said.

In the caption of the video, the woman also mentioned that the girl claimed that she had been threatened to steal. While she couldn’t confirm whether that was true, she encouraged the child to confide in her parents or school if that was the case.

What People Are Saying About the Baltimore Package Theft

Some viewers sided with the woman and said the child needed to face consequences for her actions. “You handled it like an adult,” wrote one netizen. “Nah this was a lesson she needed to learn! And she knew she should’ve had it that’s why it’s still in her bookbag,” a second person said. Another agreed, “She learned a valuable lesson that day🤣.”

Some were disheartened by the sight of a child involved in theft and also expressed concern about why the girl still had the package in her possession. “Wow the nerve of her, so sad she so young,” someone commented. “My thing is if you had it in your book bag for a whole 24 hrs you hadn’t even opened it yet so what was the point?” one comment read. A third advised, “If you can, I would definitely still let the parents know. I definitely would wanna know because that situation could’ve been real bad for her.”
