This is not an April Fools joke… a battle royale mode is coming to Forza Horizon 4. The mode is called The Eliminator, and it will be a 72-player “Battle Royale inspired racing game mode.”
According to a tweet from the official Forza Motorsports twitter account (@ForzaMotorsports) a new mode titled The Eliminator will be coming to Forza Horizon 4, and apparently it is a battle royale.
ELIMINATOR is coming to #ForzaHorizon4. Here’s what you need to know:

The mode will be offered as a free update to those who own Forza Horizon 4, but not much else is known about The Eliminator game mode. A short trailer was released showcasing some of the mode’s new features… and it looks like more driving. You can watch the video for yourself, but a slight sideswipe looks like the only bumping of cars you’ll be encouraged to do in The Eliminator.
The trailer shows cars racing around the wilderness and different tracks. Some of the scenes show a whole rally of cars driving around, while most of the shots show two cars racing head to head. There is also a zone you will have to attempt to stay inside which is a popular trope of almost every battle royale. The penalty for staying outside of the circle is unclear.
This is definitely not something Forza fans asked for, or probably ever thought would happen. However, popular twitch streamer Summit1g quote tweeted the trailer stating “This is kinda cool” and replied to the tweet itself asking when it would be available.
Forza Motorsports responded stating “Eliminator goes live tomorrow, 12/12”

We may not know much about the game now, but we don’t have to wait long at all to see how it plays. I am personally hoping for an open world destruction derby, while some fans are hoping it is more aligned with the racing style of Forza Horizon 4. I’m sure that twitch and youtube and mixer or whatever platform you watch will be filled with sports cars duking it out to become #1 when the new game mode launches tomorrow.
