Battlefield 2042 Showcases Five Additional Specialists
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

EA and DICE’s latest entry to the popular all-out warfare series Battlefield 2042 will launch with 10 Specialists, playable characters that each have unique abilities such as utilizing grappling hooks or stationary turrets. We’ve seen four of them in action from the beta period. Although DICE is still saving one, a returning character from Battlefield 4 Kimble “Irish” Graves, for the full game, today we finally get our first look at the five remaining Specialists. Hailing from Mexico to South Korea, watch how the five unique Battlefield 2042 Specialists will play in the trailer below.

In case you missed the details or just want to know each characters’ special abilities, here is the list of their names, classes, specialties, and traits of the five never-before-seen Battlefield 2042 Specialists.

Navin Rao:

  • Class: Recon.
  • Specialty: Cyber Warfare Suite – Killing a hacked target reveals surrounding enemies.
  • Trait: Trojan Network – Hack enemy equipment and manipulates environmental objects.

Santiago “Dozer” Espinoza:

  • Class: Assault.
  • Specialty: SOB-8 Ballistic Shield – Protects user from projectiles.
  • Trait: Blast Resistance – Takes less damage and has faster recovery from explosives.

Emma “Sundance” Rosier:

  • Class: Assault.
  • Specialty: Smart Explosives – A set of anti-armor, scatter, and EMP grenades.
  • Trait: Wingsuit – Lets you glide in the air.

Ji-Soo Paik:

  • Class: Recon.
  • Specialty: EMG-X Scanner – Reveals surrounding enemies’ position.
  • Trait: Threat Perception – Instantly spot enemies that deal damage to you.

Constantin “Angel” Anghel:

  • Class: Support.
  • Specialty: Loadout Crate – Drop-in a crate that lets you and your allies restore ammo, armor, and change loadout mid-combat.
  • Trait: Trauma Specialist – Revive allies rapidly and restore their armor.

Judging from their abilities, I bet most players will gravitate towards using Navin Rao or Ji-Soo Paik both in the All-Out Warfare and Hazard Zone modes thanks to their “wallhack” powers. Battlefield 2042 will be released on November 19, 2021, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Early access for pre-order will start one week early on November 12, 2021.
