Battlefield 2042 is right around the corner, with the release just over two weeks away (even sooner for those with early access). After playing the beta, to say I’m excited would be an understatement in some respects. The game truly brings Battlefield back to its glory days, with a post-modern setting and some stunning visuals to boot. Speaking of stunning visuals, the teams at DICE and NVIDIA have today unveiled a new trailer showcasing Battlefield 2042’s beauty on PC with RTX on! You can find the trailer below.
The PC trailer for Battlefield 2042 showcases many of the maps that we’ve come to see already. Across these short clips though, the team emphasizes some of its strongest features on the PC platform (especially with 30 series cards). Battlefield 2042 will feature NVIDIA Reflex, an option to reduce input latency across the board. There will also be ray-traced ambient occlusion, overall enhancing the visual quality of what is already a beautiful-looking game. The final feature mentioned is “NVIDIA DLSS AI Performance Boost” which, minus the buzzword extravaganza, means you can run your game at a higher framerate without sacrificing visual quality too harshly (unless you care about the most minute of details). All in all, NVIDIA graphics cards should provide a wonderful playing experience.
For those curious about some of the gameplay you can expect from Battlefield 2042, feel free to check out my impressions last month of the beta! If lengthy reads aren’t your style (I’m only slightly hurt), then this layout from the video description should do you well:
Battlefield 2042 is made up of three distinct multiplayer experiences – All-Out Warfare features the next generation of fan-favorite modes Conquest and Breakthrough; Battlefield Portal allows players to discover battles from the past, present and future as well as to creating and change the rules of war; while Battlefield Hazard Zone brings a tense, squad-focused survival experience. Adapt and overcome on dynamically-changing battlegrounds with the help of your squad and a cutting-edge arsenal, and prepare for unprecedented scale with up to 128 players*.”
Are you excited about Battlefield 2042 alongside RTX, DLSS, and Reflex? Do you have a NVIDIA card capable of taking advantage of these features? Let me know!
