When Battlefield 2042 launches in just over two weeks (early access in just over a week), the game will release with three modes. There will be your standard Battlefield fare in All-Out Warfare, Hazard Zone which will feature a twist on the Escape from Tarkov formula of enter, loot, escape, and finally, Battlefield Portal. While the mode has been touted as a great addition that lets you re-experience much of the classic Battlefield content remastered, we haven’t seen much hands-on. Today though, that’s changed. The teams at DICE and EA have today released a Battlefield 2042 trailer, showcasing a good chunk of gameplay from the new Battlefield Portal! You can check out the trailer below.

Battlefield Portal, for those not already aware, is a way for fans to live out their wildest Battlefield fantasies. Want Bad Company 2’s soldiers to fight Battlefield 2042s? You got it! What about the soldiers of 2042 going against their ancestors of a century ago? That’s possible too! The trailer carefully shows much of these battles, featuring the Battle of the Bulge, El Alamein, Valparaiso, Arica Harbor, Noshahr Canals, and Caspian Border maps of previous installments. Across these, it’s made clear that new won’t dominate old so easily. 1942 soldiers may not possess cutting-edge hardware, but they can still absolutely demolish the fighters of modern-day.

One thing that should be noted but the trailer doesn’t entirely make clear is that the mode is fully customizable to the owner’s liking. If you want all-out vehicular warfare between two groups, you’ve got that. Want a massive knife versus defibrillator battle? Let the hilarity ensue. Whatever your wildest dreams may be for Battlefield 2042, Battlefield Portal lets you live out those fantasies in remastered glory.

Are you excited about Battlefield Portal from the trailer? Will you be playing the other two modes? Let me know!

Battlefield 2042 releases on November 19 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
