Lately, the majority of April Fool’s jokes don’t tend to be that fun anymore. In many cases, we have just a bunch of pranksters looking for clout and doing things to annoy people. However, there are a few cases where people actually make something funny and wholesome that remind us that jokes can be harmless yet entertaining. One recent case involves the Belleville Police Department in New Jersey, where someone pulled off a prank after delivering what seemed to be a box of Dunkin’ Donuts.
The picture comes from user rollotomasi07071, who shared it on the r/newjersey subreddit. From the image’s context, it seems the OP is part of the Belleville Police Department in New Jersey and a victim of this harmless prank. As you can see, someone delivered a Dunkin’ Donuts. However, the interior was not what the PD staff expected. Instead of having some delicious donuts, it was packed with fresh vegetables and a dressing, accompanied by a message saying, “HAHA! April Fools!!!”
As you might expect, a lot of people found this prank hilarious and had many opinions on the matter.
“Lmao definitely a firefighter. Source: Am one.” – inviteinvestinvent via Reddit.
“This might be the best friendly and non harmful April fools joke I’ve seen. Well done!” – counterweight7 via Reddit.
A few others were concerned about how easy it is for someone to “give” food to local authorities, but a Redditor quickly jumped in on the matter, giving their opinion and making more-than-welcome speculation.
“Gotta be someone in the local gov’t, or it’d have never made it past the front desk.” – jlobes via Reddit.
In any case, this truly is a fun prank and, most importantly, harmless. Still, it is uncertain who the culprit was. Many claim it might’ve been a firefighter due to the usual friendly rivalry between a city’s PD and FD. Others think it might’ve been an inside job. Yet, we don’t know who the epic prankster indeed was.
