Even if the world has been sent to oblivion, that doesn’t mean meta-humans can’t find a place to call home. On the contrary, there are many suitable locations in Once Human where players can settle down and create the best base ever. Still, we know that making the right choice isn’t an easy task. Should you choose a location based on the picturesque views? Is it better to find a spot close to resources? Or do you want to be close to Mary so you can see her every day? We get it; it’s a tough call. But we’re here to nudge you in the right direction and help you pick a suitable piece of land.

5. Dayton Waylands’ Riverside Base

Allow me to put my non-existent realtor skills to the test to sell you this location. Dayton Waylands is everyone’s first stop in this post-apocalyptic world. You’ll meet the delightful Mary, kill your first few enemies, and maybe meet a friend or two. In a sense, Dayton Waylands is everyone’s ideal neighborhood. The location I picked (and please ignore the clutter in the picture as I’m remodeling it) is one of the most central in the area. You have Overlook Town, which is a few miles from this spot. Plus, it is surrounded by water, giving you an unlimited source of this heavenly substance. Lastly, it has many sulfur and copper deposits, as well as a bunch of deer. You can stay here during the early levels to build what’s necessary before moving on to high-level spots.

4. Broken Delta’s Shore Base

Let’s say you don’t care about views, hot NPCs, or spending time surrounded by other players. If that’s the case, there’s a perfect location for you to channel that inner hermit. Just where Broken Delta begins, you can make your home at the shore or, more specifically, at the tin ore spawn point. This is a fantastic place because it offers rare materials, good access to roads that lead you to other locations, sulfur and copper deposits, and water. It isn’t the most beautiful locale, but if you just want to focus on resource-gathering and neighbor-shunning, you can’t go wrong with this spot.

3. Base Under The Bridge

The next location I have for you, and one I think is the best for some mid-game bases in Once Human, is also inside Broken Delta, albeit a bit deeper into the zone. If you look at the above image, you can quickly see why I picked this location. It has a lot of nearby ore deposits, including sulfur, copper, and tin. There’s also a body of water below the river, but most importantly, it’s between two settlements that contain great loot: Highbanks and Hearst Industries. If you want to get some rare ingredients by disassembling loot, you can do a few daily runs to these places, bring them back, and start hoarding. The downside of this place is that it is a bit small, and depending on the world, some players might’ve built a base here already.

2. A Miner’s Paradise

One of the best base locations in Once Human, especially for those who want to form a community, is the one I’ve marked on the map. The layout might not be the best, as it is quite steep, but there are ore deposits for days around this place. If you want your hive to settle down somewhere, you can’t go wrong with this open area. Also, it offers access to many of Broken Delta’s roads that can take you to settlements and even a teleportation tower. This is also a great location for solo players, but it’ll get lonely quickly. You should be good if you don’t lose your mind by the lack of neighbors.

1. Next Stage Prepper

This one is for the meta players out there (no pun intended). Since Once Human opens up new zones as the season progresses, this area will be one of the best if you want a base ready for the next stage. It is quite far away from the currently accessible settlements, but there are still a few things for you to gather. There are a lot of trees, ore deposits, and some deer to hunt. There’s a small body of water nearby, but most importantly, it’s at the edge of the map, so it’ll allow you to cross between areas easily. So, if you have already done everything in the current stage, start moving to the edge before the new zones open up.

And there you have it; these are the best base locations in Once Human, at least during the season’s first stages. Once more zones open up, we’ll update this guide with new locations. After all, you can’t stick to one area forever. You’ll need better materials, stronger loot, and, most importantly, easier access to some of the game’s high-level quests. So, don’t get too attached to your base, but start building it as sturdy as possible so you can just transfer it to a new spot. As always, remember to visit our site for more Once Human coverage.
