This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

After much waiting, version 1.4 finally saw the release of Topaz and Numby, the first proper Fire DPS duo, at least a 5-star one without counting Himeko. This couple is here to take down enemies fast with follow-up attacks and a good old dose of debt collecting. And while they are great, they shine even more if you have the right relics and light cones for them. That’s why we’ve prepared a guide with the best build and team comp for Topaz and Numby in Honkai: Star Rail.

Best DPS Build for Topaz in Honkai: Star Rail

Topaz and Numby are a fantastic duo that can shine alone or make others shine. They are quite versatile as DPS and Sub-DPS characters and flexible when it comes to pairing them with others. Before we delve into that, let’s check what are the items you’ll need for them.

Light Cones

In the case of Topaz, she performs better with her Light Cone, as it increases CRIT DMG and Follow-Up Attack Damage. These are the bread and butter of Topaz and Numby’s playstyle, and if you’re planning to build her the right way, you should save some passes for this Light Cone. If not, here are other options for her:

  • Worrisome, Blissful (Best)
    • Increase the wearerโ€™s CRIT Rate by 18% and DMG from follow-up attacks by 30%. After the wearer unleashes a follow-up attack, apply the Tame state to the target, stacking up to 2 stacks. When allies hit enemy targets under the Tame state, every Tame stack will increase the CRIT DMG received by 12%.
  • Swordplay
    • Each time the wearer hits the same target, DMG dealt increases by 8%, stacking up to 5 times. The stack effect will be reset when the wearer changes targets.
  • Only Silence Remains
    • Increases the ATK of its wearer by 16%. If two or fewer enemies are on the field, it increases the wearerโ€™s CRIT Rate by 12%.

Relic Set

Choosing the relic set for Topaz is pretty straightforward, as this build relies on increasing her damage in Honkai: Star Rail. For that, there’s only one set we recommend for her.

  • Firesmith of Lava-Forging (4 Pieces)
    • 2-Piece Bonus: Increases Fire DMG by 10%.
    • 4-Piece Bonus: Increases the wearerโ€™s Skill DMG by 12%. After unleashing Ultimate, it increases the wearerโ€™s Fire DMG by 12% for the next attack.
  • Planar Ornament (Inner Salsotto):
    • 2-Piece Bonus: Increases the wearerโ€™s CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearerโ€™s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearerโ€™s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.

Best Team Comps

We initially mentioned Topaz is great at making other shines, yet she can also shine on her own with Numby’s help. With the above items, she can perform the role of main or sub-DPS. Ultimately, the choice is yours; you can have her adapt to any situation. Here are the team comps we recommend:

  • Main DPS Team Comp
    • Main DPS: Topaz
    • Support: Tingyun
    • Tank/Shielder: March 7th
    • Healer: Lynx

For the first team comp, it is important to have March 7th as the tank. She can do follow-up attacks whenever an enemy hits a shielded enemy. This works perfectly with Topaz. Tingyun is there to increase Topaz’s damage and energy, while Lynx is there to provide steady heals and cleansing.

  • Sub-DPS Team Comp
    • Main DPS: Clara
    • Sub-DPS: Topaz
    • Support: Yukong
    • Healer: Lynx

With this team comp, you’ll be looking for ways to make Clara use her counterattacks. If you have Lynx, her skill makes enemies more likely to tager Path of Destruction characters, the Path Clara belongs to. Yukong is there to help Clara attack faster, and Topaz will take advantage of all the follow-up attacks.

As you can see, Topaz is pretty versatile when finding her spot in a team. If you have her, prepare the above items and get her up to speed so she can join the frontlines alongside her fantastic Warp Trotter. And if you want to see her skills in action, here’s a video from HoYoverse introducing us to this duo.
