Final Fantasy 16 is a fast-paced, action-filled game with tons of monsters to fight and XP to earn. Experience points can be hard to come by in Final Fantasy 16 unless you know exactly where to look. Most of the game is linear, so you will have to push deep into the game before you can really start earning levels quickly. We will break down the best places to grind XP in Final Fantasy 16.

Best Farm XP Farm Methods in Final Fantasy 16

For the first few hours of FF16, the game is mostly straightforward, with very few optional fights or hidden bosses to chase down. After completing the mission Righting Wrongs, all of that changes. Once you reach this point of the game, you will have access to several new mechanics and the freedom to pursue combat at your leisure. This will let you grind XP with ease moving forward. Here is a breakdown of the best places you want to keep an eye out for.

The Hunting Board

The Hunt Board will be unlocked at the new, improved version of the Hideaway, run by a Moogle, no less. On this board, you will have a list of rare creatures to hunt. Each target has a description and a few hints about its location. These monsters are rated on a letter grade scale and can go as high as S. The higher the rating, the more XP you can earn.

Arcade Mode and Stage Replay

Arcade Mode will unlock shortly after heading to the Hideaway with Cid upon completing the prologue. You will see an item called the Arete Stone. This stone will let you choose between Arcade Mode and Stage replay. Arcade Mode resembles something like Devil May Cry, where you will get scored based on your performance during each combat sequence.

When you finish a stage, you will get rated and points on the leaderboard. You won’t earn the same XP as your first time through, but this is a great way to replay a late-game stage and grind XP to your heart’s content.

The Velkroy Desert

This location is around 70% through the campaign, and even though it isn’t quite an end-game area, this location is great for fighting high-level enemies that are easy to beat. This allows you to roam around on your Chocobo and hunt down groups of enemies quickly.

Take advantage of these three different XP farms to grind XP fast in Final Fantasy 16. Each time you level, all of your stats will increase. Once you beat the game, you can play through “Final Fantasy mode.” This mode will change enemy placements and increase the level cap to 100.
