Until August 26, Pokemon Go Trainers can band together to endeavor to beat Primal Kyogre, the enhanced version of the Sea Basin Legendary. If you missed the opportunity to get this ultrarare pocket monster during its debut around the start of 2023, now’s the perfect chance — if you have the proper counters. As a Pokemon with only a single elemental type, Primal Kyogre’s weaknesses in Pokemon Go are easy to recognize and remember. However, this knowledge won’t make the Raid Battle any less challenging against this Primal Legendary.

The Sea Basin Legendary is a Water-type Raid Boss; accordingly, Primal Kyogre’s weaknesses are Grass and Electric. Both of these elements deal 1.6 times the damage, making them equally effective. Conversely, avoid using Pokemon with Steel-, Fire-, Water-, or Ice-type Movesets.

If you’re wondering how many Trainers are needed to beat Primal Kyogre in Pokemon Go, we recommend at least six to eight players. In our experience, anything lower than that risks failure, especially when Raiding with randoms. However, if you’re in a group with people you know equipped with the best counters possible, then the ideal number might be lower.
