This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Shikai is the level one version of the unique ability of the Soul Reaper class in Type Soul. In total, there are 14 different Shikai that players can roll, all categorized between three rarities. Although most Legendary Shikai can be the most potent powers you can roll, you cannot simply discount the Rare or Common ones as well! To help you out picking which spiritual ability to get, we have rated each Roblox Type Soul Shikai power and weapon compatibility into tier list.

AFire, Lightning, Zangetsu
BBerserk, Shadow, Judgment, Poison, Suzumebachi, Water, Wind
CCreation, Confusion
  • S-tier Type Soul Shikai elements excel in PvP and raids and can be hard to counter.
    • Blood (Legendary roll): Can be easily used with all weapon types or builds, deals great damage, and has great utility. Nothing else needs to be said about this element.
    • Flower (Legendary roll): Can be easy to block at times, but it gives nice buffs to your M1 attacks and is pretty fast.
    • Ice (Legendary roll): Ice attacks are incredibly versatile and can easily cover all options, from counters to ranged attacks. It can freeze enemies to boot.
    • Ink (Legendary roll): Pair it with a Kendo build and you can decimate enemies with ease.
    • Theatre (Legendary roll): Very fast attacks and the counter move is very easy to use. You can’t go wrong with this.
  • A-tier elements are good for general usage, especially for combos, but are overshadowed by S-tiers.
    • Fire (Rare roll): Its speed and range lend itself a great combo and mixup potential in fights. While using it properly can be hard, rolling the element should be easy. The best Type Soul Shikai on the A tier and Rare rarity, in our opinion.
    • Lightning (Common roll): A very effective element with great range and stun effect. However, it has to stay at A tier because the attacks can be easily blocked.
    • Zangetsu (Rare roll): If you need lots of AOE attacks, then Zangetsu is your boy. Excels in boss raids.
  • B-tier Shikai shines in specific scenarios or can be used until you get better ones.
    • Berserk (Common roll): A decent element that gives a decent buff, but there’s nothing else to say about it at least at Shikai level. Pair it with Speed or Kendo build and Katana or Hammer to maximize its potential.
    • Judgment: At the time of writing, this new Shikai element in Type Soul seems pretty mediocre. There’s a unique gimmick where you can teleport to an enemy and mark them for damage debuff. But its utility and range are a bit disappointing.
    • Poison: Similar to Judgment, this new Shikai’s potential is yet to be determined, although the damage overtime looks interesting. Also, a bug messes up with its cooldown so avoid it for now.
    • Shadow (Common roll): The attacks and damage output are okay but can be easy to counter.
    • Suzumebachi (Legendary roll): This element seems mid at first, but you need a proper build to make it sing. We recommend using it with a Hakuda build for the best result.
    • Water (Common roll): A decent element that forces your target to keep moving and with a decent range.
    • Wind (Rare roll): Wind is actually pretty good, its combo potential is close to A tier. But landing hits can be hard and only got better at Bankai so it will take more effort than higher tier elements.
  • C-tier Shikai elements in Type Souls are either plain terrible or take too much effort to deal optimal damage. Better reroll for others if you can.
    • Creation (Common roll): Slow and almost all of its moves are easy to block or dodge. Plain trash.
    • Confusion (Common roll): For some reason, the Type Soul developer decided it’s a good idea to give one of the toughest Shikai bosses to an extremely mediocre element. Avoid this one at all costs.

    • Paintbrush is the exception as it has a great moveset but can only be used with Ink Shikai/Bankai.
  • A-tier weapons are great options that are slightly dominated by S-tiers in PvPs and raids.
  • B-tier Type Soul Shikai weapons can shine when used with a proper build.
  • C-tier weapons take too much effort to be used effectively.
