The time for some gaming purchases is here, and what’s better than adding a few more games to your backlog? In all seriousness, the Black Friday sale of Steam has begun, and there are several deals you should watch out for. Instead of listing the cheapest titles out there, we’ve decided to recommend a few we’ve played in the past years that you should definitely experience. So, buckle up, grab your wallet, and get ready to make that game library just a bit bigger this weekend.

Ninja Gaiden 4

Let’s kick off this list with the game that put action-adventure back on the map: Ninja Gaiden 4. While it launched not long ago, it is already part of the Black Friday sale on Steam. Ninja Gaiden 4 brings back the challenging, chaotic action of the series, with even greater looks, better and deadlier moves, and an actually interesting story that features Ryu and Yakumo. Also, it might be the fourth entry, but don’t let that scare you, as this one is quite approachable for newcomers.

DOOM: The Dark Ages

Doom The Dark Ages Review

One thing that DOOM: The Dark Ages did for the franchise was experiment with the Slayer’s movement, making him feel like the deadliest tank there ever was. In truth, The Dark Ages is a fantastic game full of jaw-dropping setpieces and the gory action you can expect from the franchise. The gunplay is top-notch, the visuals are stunning, and the semi-open-world portions of the game are pretty great, too.

Purchase on Steam – 50% Off

Yakuza 0

This might be an odd entry, but hear us out. While Yakuza 0 isn’t on sale right now, the truth is that it is pretty cheap. But why are we listing a game that launched several years ago? Well, you all know the Director’s Cut upgrade is coming soon, and it will be pretty accessible. So, you can either wait for the full version to drop or get the original one and wait for the upgrade. Either way, it is an excellent way to get into the Like a Dragon series.

Absolum

Absolum PC Review

One of the most addictive and innovative beat ’em ups of the year is, without a doubt, Absolum, and one that we’ve extensively covered around here, and with good reason. For starters, the actual beat ’em up part is superb. However, the one thing that encourages us to return to this colorful world is the roguelite loop, which is there to spice things up in every run.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance

SEGA has been nailing it lately with its revivals, and one that blew us away was Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. On top of the gorgeous 2D style, the combat and exploration parts are terrific. It is a proper action-adventure game that challenges you at all times. Also, it is highly replayable due to its collectibles, challenges, and other features. On top of that, it embraces the ninja fantasy perfectly, so if you’re a fan of that archetype, this is a must-play.

Steam – 30% Off

Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 Review

Despite the complaints, the truth is that Battlefield 6 arrived to dominate the FPS market, and continues to do so weeks after launch. Even if you don’t purchase it right now, Battlefield 6 is hosting a free weekend, which means it is great for those who have yet to try it, and might need some nudging before purchasing it. However, we recommend adding the game to your library, especially if you’re an FPS fan, because this game’s future seems quite bright, and we can’t wait to see what the studio has in store for us.

Steam – 15% Off

Dune: Awakening

Dune Awakening Game Review

Dune: Awakening is, hands down, the ultimate survival-crafting experience of the year, and what makes it better is the fact that it is set in the rich Dune universe. This is yet another Black Friday deal you can’t miss on Steam because Funcom really nailed the Dune vibes, while also creating an engaging survival loop. Plus, the game is getting constant updates, so it is always a great time to jump into Arrakis.

Steam – 25% Off

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & The Envisoned Land

Ryza might be everyone’s first love, but Yumia arrived to fight for that alchemist crown. Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & The Envisoned Land aims to make an approachable Atelier experience for many and truly succeeds at it. Its characters are as charming as those in other entries, the combat is quite fun, and the base-building systems are pretty snappy. Plus, the game has received several updates, so you’ll be jumping into a game that is brimming with a lot of content and QoL features already.

Steam – 30% Off

Split Fiction

The beginning of this year was packed with several fantastic games, and one of those is Split Fiction. In a world full of massive multiplayer games or single-player only titles, Hazelight Studios returns with yet another co-op masterpiece full of heart, excellent gameplay, and a narrative that feels like a love letter to the gaming industry. The friend pass is already available, so you only have to purchase it once to play with another person.

Steam – 20% Off

Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy Edition

And to wrap up our Black Friday Steam deals list, we have Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy edition. Yes, The Edge of Fate had a rough launch, but Renegades is looking better than ever, which means now’s the time to either get back into the game, finally purchase the new expansion, or just enjoy the extra goodies of the Year of Prophecy. Even years after its release, Destiny 2 remains one of the most engaging and addictive shooters out there, and one that seems like it’s about to get better.
