Magic’s great and all in V Rising but apparently, the humans have invented peculiar contraptions that you can use in devising new ways to murder them. The Tech Scrap component is one such item and it lets you build and unlock more powerful gear and structures. Hence, I’ll show you how to get Tech Scrap in V Rising 1.0 most efficiently.

Tech Scrap in V Rising mostly drops from enemies in the Gloomroot Region. That’s regardless of whether it’s in Gloomrot South or Gloomrot North.

It is worth noting, however, Gloomrot North notably has more powerful enemies and environmental dangers, so it’s easier to roam around in Gloomrot South. There’s little to no lightning in Gloomrot South. If you want to reliably farm Tech Scrap, go to Gloomrot South, I recommend you bring your character to at least Gear Level 60.

Additionally, not all enemies in Gloomrot drop it. Mutants and human enemies with no visible advanced technology attached to them typically don’t drop Tech Scraps.

There’s no mining spot for Tech Scrap, unlike ore, but you’ll still need hundreds or even thousands of Tech Scrap for your mid to late-game gear and structures. The following requires Tech Scraps:

  • Radium Alloy (crafting material for weapons)
  • Schematic (for unlocking recipes)
  • Fabricator (structure)
  • Advanced Grinder (structure)

Your best bet is to hunt down and destroy mechanized enemies and those carrying advanced weapons in Gloomrot.

If you want a more targeted farming method for Tech Scrap, make sure to slay the following enemies as they have a higher chance of dropping Tech Scrap.

BatoonLevel 58
PyroLevel 56
RailgunnerLevel 58
TazerLevel 58
TechnicianLevel 58
Tractor BeamerLevel 58
DrillerLevel 60
Sentry OfficerLevel 60
Lightning ProtectorLevel 74
GattlerLevel 77
ZapperLevel 77

Enemies Level 60 or below are usually located in Gloomrot South. Meanwhile, Level 74+ enemies roam around in Gloomrot North. They are usually not worth it for farming Tech Scrap in V Rising. They are harder to kill compared to Gloomrot South enemies.

In addition to regular enemies, bosses in the Gloomroth region also drop Tech Scraps though you shouldn’t rely on them for that component.

So as a rule of thumb, avoid hunting Mutants for Tech Scrap and focus on enemies with advanced weaponry and gear.
