Beyond giving your mech new looks, all pieces have a function that’ll let you improve certain aspects of your AC. One of the core parts, no pun intended, is the Torso or, as the game calls it, Core. This AC fragment will drastically change your playstyle, as some might be heavier than others and provide better protection. If you are unsure what to do when choosing a core for your AC, we’ve made a list of the best Torso types you can get in Armored Core 6 to make your mech the best there ever was.

Armored Core 6: Best Torso Types for ACs

As mentioned, Torso types in Armored Core 6 vary due to their stats and the protection they provide. Some will weigh you down and make you slower but let you take more hits. The lighter ones will let you dash through the battlefield but make you less resilient against enemy attacks. Still, we’ve found some of the best Cores you need to watch for when exploring Rubicon.

VP-40s

Kicking off the list, we have the VP-40S Core. This torso part is one of the most balanced in the game, as it provides a normal weight load and good Armor Protection. While it isn’t the best stat-wise, you can make some balanced builds with this one. You can start with this part before picking some heavy or light legs, depending on what you want to do.

DF-BD-08 TIANG-QIANG

If you want to make the tankiest mech, you can’t go wrong with the DF-BD-08-TIANG-QIANG. Yes, we know it’s a mouthful, but using it is much easier than saying it. This core, while heavy, is one of the best Torso parts in Armored Core 6. It’ll let you take plenty of hits and goes well with those who want to keep lighter legs and use heavy torso parts.

The 07-061 MIND ALPHA is the last on our Torso list due to how well it works at protecting while also giving you more speed. Yes, it isn’t as hefty as other parts and won’t provide much AP, yet it is still good if you want to improve your Boost capabilities without jeopardizing your mech’s protection.

And that’s a wrap on our best Torso types in Armored Core 6. While we consider these the best, you can experiment with every part until you find the right build. This game gives much freedom to players, and you should use that when building the most epic mech out there.

Armored Core 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
