Bethesda Game Studios has just unveiled a new sneak-peek on their latest project, the sci-fi RPG Starfield, with three new short teaser trailers. In the videos Design Director Emil Pagliarulo guides us through three very distinct Starfield locales you’ll be able to visit in the game: the United Colonies capital city, New Atlantis; the pleasure city of Neon; and the capital of the Freestar Collective, Akila. Check them all out below.

Bethesda’s Starfield – New Atlantis Trailer

Starfield: Location Insights (Developer Commentary) - New Atlantis

The first out of the three trailers showcased the concept for New Atlantis, the capital city of the United Colonies — or U.C. for short — the “most powerful military and political faction” in the Starfield universe. Pagliarulo describes New Atlantis as a “true reflection” of the perceived future of our real world, where every race, creed, and ethnicity in the game mingles and creates a melting pot of different cultures.

Akila City – Starfield Trailer

Meanwhile, Akila City is the capital of the Freestar Alliance, a confederation of three distinct star systems. Although it lacks the glitz and glamour of a high-rise city, all citizens of Akila City are proud believers of personal freedom and individuality. Another thing to note of the city is the huge walls surrounding it, built to protect everyone in it from the vicious Ashta, alien predators that are like a “cross between a wolf and velociraptor.”

Pleasure City Neon Trailer

Lastly, we have the Neon, a “pleasure city” built on platforms in the middle of an ocean. It was made by Xenofresh Corporation as a fishing platform at first until it found a unique type of fish with psychotropic properties instead. Afterward, the company shifted gears from selling sea creatures to drugs — because the new business venture is obviously much more profitable. This drug is named Aurora and is only legal on Neon. People flock and the business is booming.

Ready to explore Bethesda’s new sci-fi universe Starfield when the game launches exclusively on Xbox Series X and PC on November 11, 2022? Tell us what you think of these teaser trailers in the comments and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash.
