The reign of Saul Goodman will continue for another season on AMC. Sony Pictures Television and AMC announced that Better Call Saul has been picked up for a third season.
Season 2 is smack in the middle of its run right now, as episode 5 “Rebecca” just air this past Monday. The show runs shorter seasons than most shows, only housing 10 episode per run, and next season will be no exception. For better or for worse, the rise of the Saul Goodman character is short but sweet year over year.
Co-creators, show runners, and writers Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould will continue to take the helm of the next 10 episodes, which is great news for fans of this Better Call Saul and of course, Breaking Bad. Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios had some real high praise for the production team in the company’s news release about Season 3:
What Vince, Peter, Bob and the entire team have accomplished with Better Call Saul is truly rare and remarkable. They have taken one of the most iconic, immersive and fan-obsessive (in the best possible way) shows in television history and created a prequel that stands on its own.
In the news is also the fact that Better Call Saul’s second season is averaging 4.4 million viewers per episode in its second season, a huge number.
Things are just starting to heat up for Jimmy McGill, Mike Ehrmantraut, and the gang and it’s great to see such a well-written and well-rounded show return to the small screen. Breaking Bad fans who haven’t taken the plunge into the prequel series have lots of time to catch up. In my opinion, it’s even better, the character of Jimmy McGill shines while we also see a great backstory for Mike and the surrounding cast members.
There is no set date for a Season 3 release but as news breaks will have it for you right here. It’s all good man!
