From wardrobe malfunctions to technical issues, so much drama has unfolded throughout Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter tour these past few months. The latest incident occurred at the end of Beyoncé’s Atlanta concert. Fans were leaving Mercedes-Benz Stadium on public transportation when a stampede suddenly broke out on an escalator. Believe it or not, the panic ensued over a small bug.
Fans Experience Scare After Beyoncé’s Atlanta Concert
The stampede happened after Beyoncé’s final Atlanta concert as part of her Cowboy Carter tour. The pop star had performed back-to-back shows in the city across several days. While her first three performances had gone off without a hitch, her last one unfortunately ended in complete disaster. Things started to go south when crowds of Beyoncé fans began taking the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) to get home.
According to People, chaos ensued at the Vine City Station shortly after midnight. Everyone was in good spirits when all of a sudden, someone started screaming and running, which caused everyone else to panic, too. The incident caused a stampede on an escalator. With so many people on it at once, the escalator temporarily malfunctioned. MARTA Police said it sped up and then abruptly stopped, which made people fall on top of each other. 11 people were injured during the chaos, including one person who suffered a broken ankle and seven people who received “cuts and scrapes.”
Of course, everyone assumed the worst when they heard all of the screaming and running. However, police said the noise was caused by a little girl getting scared of a bug. Student Jacobi Edwards experienced the chaos firsthand and suffered a sprained ankle as a result. “It was crazy, it was chaotic,” Edwards told Fox 5. “We didn’t know what was going on.”
The ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour Also Suffered A Robbery
The Beyoncé Atlanta concert drama took place just days before the singer is set to conclude her Cowboy Carter tour. After three months of being on the road, Beyoncé will finish her trek with two performances in Las Vegas. She’ll perform at Allegiant Stadium on Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26. It’s unclear what she’ll do once her tour ends. However, she might be gearing up to release new music.
The rumors of a possible Beyoncé comeback spread earlier this month when news broke that someone had stolen her unreleased music. The files were kept in her choreographer Christopher Grant’s car. The theft occurred when Grant had parked his car and went to grab food. When he came back, he had discovered that his computer was missing. Apart from unreleased Beyoncé music, the thief obtained the singer’s past and future concert setlists.
The robbery happened in Atlanta just before Beyoncé’s four concerts at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
