2019 is coming to an end and a truly amazing decade of gaming is coming with it. From the developmental progress of consoles with the Nintendo Switch and VR to the overwhelming list of successful titles, gamers have had it good over the last few years. And it can only go up from here! With titles like The Last of Us Part II and Marvel’s Avengers on the horizon, there is plenty to be excited about in 2020. So, here are just a few of the most exciting titles and release dates (so far!).

Ori and the Will of the Wisps (Xbox One, PC)

Release Date: February 11

Xbox really needs this exclusive to pay off, but everyone expects the very best from this Ori sequel. Featuring the same unique style from the first one and adorable characters, this is sure to be one of the first gaming hits of the year.

Dreams (PlayStation 4)

Release Date: February 14

Sony has been talking up the endless possibilities in Dreams for a few years now. As far as gaming releases of 2020 goes, this might be one of the most ambitious on the list if it comes through on all of its promises.

Final Fantasy VII Remake (PlayStation 4)

Release Date: March 3

Does this even need an introduction? Out of all the gaming releases for 2020, this might be the most anticipated one on the list. After several setbacks and some controversy, the remake Final Fantasy fans have been waiting for is on the horizon.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch)

Release Date: March 20

The internet lost its collective mind when Nintendo officially announced another Animal Crossing game, and it is almost here. Although, be prepared, because March is shaping up to be a good month. Along with the Final Fantasy VII Remake and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Nioh 2, Doom Eternal, and Persona 5 Royal are also set to release in March 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC)

Release Date: April 16

Keanu Reeves. Bright, beautiful graphics. A rocking soundtrack. I mean, come on… It basically sells itself, right?

Marvel’s Avengers (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, PC)

Release Date: May 15

With Nolan North and Troy Baker on the cast, how can this not be great? Then again, almost everything Marvel touches these days turns to pure gold. With how great Spider-Man was, chances are good that this will be too!

The Last of Us Part II (PlayStation 4)

Release Date: May 29

The Last of Us Part II was supposed to be one of the earlier gaming releases of 2020, but Naughty Dog had to push it back a few weeks. While this might be one of our most anticipated releases of the year, we are more than willing to give the devs all the time for the perfect continuation of Ellie and Joel’s story.

While these are some of the biggest releases with official release dates, there are plenty of games with a release window in the next year. Dying Light 2, Halo Infinite, Little Nightmares 2, and Ghost of Tsushima are all big gaming releases set to come out next year. Even George RR Martin’s Elden Ring is rumored to come out in 2020.

Which one are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments below, and keep coming back to The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs! And happy gaming for 2020!
