Billie Lourd, best known for her roles as Sadie Swenson (aka Chanel #3) on Scream Queens and Lieutenant Connix in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has been cast in the upcoming season of FX’s anthology show American Horror Story. Deadline first reported the news, making Lourd the fourth public casting announcement. She will star alongside Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Billy Eichner. Ryan Murphy created both American Horror Story and Scream Queens.
Other than these few casting announcements, we know very few details about the upcoming season of American Horror Story. The only element of the story that we know so far is that it will deal with the most recent presidential election, with the first episode taking place on election night. Beyond that, details are extremely scarce.
Billie Lourd is the daughter of the late, great Carrie Fisher, and actually appears alongside her mother in both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. She has confirmed that her role in The Last Jedi is significantly larger than her rather small role in The Force Awakens. She will also be appearing in the upcoming James Cox film Billionaire Boys Club.
Lourd is excellent on Scream Queens, with good comedic timing and some solid acting chops to boot. Whether or not that translates to the bleak world of American Horror Story is something we will have to see, but I wouldn’t bet against the daughter of Carrie Fisher. No word on an exact premiere date yet, but it seems likely that it will debut this fall. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
