Black Friday has always been a hectic holiday. Take it from someone who had to work Thanksgiving evening and Black Friday at a video game retailer for nearly ten years. People will quite literally run over one another and argue just to try and get the best deals out there. One such situation happened at a department store where they were offering a 32-inch TV for only $40. The chaos that ensued was unimaginable and, fortunately, recorded and posted to Reddit.
The video depicts Black Friday shoppers frantically piling on top of one another for something. The entire debacle is so large that you can see several people attempting to film it instead of actively looking for their own shopping. At the center of the pile of people are 32-inch televisions that are on a ridiculous sale of $40. Eventually, the pile begins to lessen, and people start getting up and posing with their conquests.
Considering the sizes of televisions now, there are many people in the comments who believer that the fight everyone put up for such a small TV was not worth it. I have to say, I agree.
“Imagine fighting others for a s***** TV.”
Despite having worked on the busiest holiday of the year, I don’t think I have ever seen a group of people as determined to get something on sale as these people. Some of them were even genuinely getting into physical fights just for the TV.
“32 inch? What is this, a TV for ants?”
However, I can’t shake the feeling that the entire affair was probably done for a commercial or something. Many of the shoppers give up their television a little too easily, and you can spot some professional cameras in the crowd. All jokes aside, I’m glad that it looks as though no one was actually hurt.
