Black Ops 6 Fans Divided Over The New Zombies Game Mode

Let the complaints begin

Hating/loving Call of Duty is something that’s been around since, well, Call of Duty. The different game modes are designed for different types of players, and not all of them are going to be loved by every single user on the planet. Speaking of which, Grief, a forgotten game mode that almost nobody cared about in the past decade is now in Black Ops 6 in the new Season 4 Zombies playlist. And while some players enjoy melee spamming the enemy operators in front of the walking corpses, others refuse to join their lobby.

So Grief is the new Black Ops 6 Zombies game mode in which you play in 2 groups of 4 going up against each other while the zombies try to run you down. The first team to lose all its members to the human flesh-eating zombies gets eliminated. However, there are a bunch of objectives like the S.A.M Trials in the normal Zombies mode in Black Ops 6 that the players must complete to survive the horde. Now is this new iteration of Grief actually fun?

This user has posted a meme about how the developers have ruined the Grief game mode from Black Ops 2. The truth is, the old iteration of Grief didn’t have the objectives and it was basically a survival game between the 2 teams. Some maps didn’t even have the Juggernog perk, which is brutal against zombies that kill you with only 2 hits.

“Grief was never really that good.” This is the first comment of the post, and it speaks volumes. I remember back in the days of Black Ops 2, not many players used to play Grief. The game was all about the easter egg hunting and the survival records we set with our friends. Grief was a side dish, and it’s still the same. It’s a game mode, like S&D and Kill Order in the Multiplayer.

Another user goes “grief wasn’t even fun on bo2, it felt so barebones and hapless thrown together.” This is while others have enjoyed the mode on BO2 and some are having fun with the new iteration as well. However, there are a few points I need to make before the final verdict on Grief. For example, this new Black Ops 6 Zombies game mode of Season 4 puts players against each other, and that means using Gobblegums is pay-to-win. That’s not cool with many players like me, and I’d like to have casual lobbies with no Goblles involved.

Next is the custom lobbies. If there’s one thing that makes the BO2 Zombies Grief mode way better than BO6, it’s the fact that we could play up to 8 players with our friends. Sure, there are no easter eggs, but it’s so fun knowing that you’re stunning your pal so that they get eaten by the zombies. And lastly, I think a hardcore Grief with the open area map and no objectives sounds entertaining.

Now the verdict: Is Black Ops 6 Zombies Grief mode fun? Yes. If you’re a fan of Zombies and casually play this part of Call of Duty, it is fun. This game mode could be way better than this, of course, but it’s still exciting to go up against 4 other players with your friends and feed them to the undead! And most importantly, aimbot and wallhack mean nothing here.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
