There are a lot of factors that keep Call of Duty away from being a 100% pay-to-win title. Free CP on the Battle Pass, weapons that you can unlock through leveling and grinding, and operators that come with no specialty in performance but cosmetics only. However, a recent bundle has been added to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, allowing players to gain an OP special weapon called the Sirin 9mm that others have to wait for a week to unlock.
It’s all about the Reactive: Cash Bandit bundle. Now, if this weapon was available to unlock through a single challenge, it would be all fine and dandy, and there would be no huge pay-to-win business model to point at and get mad about. However, the only way to achieve this gun is by paying 2800 CP, and it’s so OP that it reminds me of Shang Tsung’s sense of deceit in MK1; “Can I afford to be without it.”
After testing this gun in Zombies, Multiplayer, and Warzone, I have to say, this is a must-have in Black Ops 6 right now. And you know what makes Sirin 9mm even more powerful? The fact that it’s a secondary weapon and you won’t have to burn a Wildcard to add it to your loadout as your sweet sniper support. Pick Gunfighter, build rifles with 8 attachments, and put Sirin 9mm in your back pocket. This is a genuine pay-to-win issue within Black Ops 6 and Warzone in the current era of Call of Duty.
Of course, it’s worth noting that the Sirin 9mm is unlocked by the Hit List community challenge that’s been going on from a week ago. And the cool thing is that we, as a community, cannot finish this challenge in the given time. 50 Billion kills? I mean come on Treyarch I know you’ve achieved the top player number in a Call of Duty game and that’s a great record, but we’re not anywhere near the free Sirin 9mm and we’re obviously not making it in seven days.
So with the given time, one would presume that the Sirin 9mm is given to all players in Warzone and Black Ops 6 by the end of the challenge, which is on December 5th. Until then, welcome, to the pay-to-win window of Black Ops 6.
