Ever since the admission of using AI tools for some of the 2D art in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, Call of Duty has fallen under a gigantic shadow of “AI Slop” by fans. Users seem to be asking the AI-generated rate of everything in the game now. And the new Black Ops 6 Season 3 Zombies map logo, the Shattered Veil, is now under the microscope. Since the art was released, people have drawn attention to the text looking suspicious. But while I totally get the concern, I think on this one they’re off-base.
Treyarch working with the AI tools to add 2D art like the emblems, decals, and paintings on the walls in Black Ops 6 maps isn’t appealing to most players. I too would pretty much prefer an artist to work on the loading screen we see every time we hop into the game. However, I don’t overthink it as everything is “AI slop.”
A while ago, a Call of Duty Zombies content creator Glitching Queen researched a ton of the 2D art items in the game, and some of them were clearly AI-generated. However, the recent logo for the Shattered Veil map in Black Ops 6 Zombies doesn’t look like a slop. If so, Treyarch has been using the AI tools for 3 years now.
The post highlights how the other Zombies maps from the Black Ops Cold War were similar. And judging by the looks of them, they’re not AI-generated– to me, at least. But the story gets complicated when fans overthink it as the new logo for the upcoming map is generated because “every letter has its own shape.”

This comes from how an artist would most likely keep a flow with the whole wording’s design and this one has a bit of a different approach. To be honest, the logo and even its controversial “Es” look the same in a way. The flow is there, but still, there’s no way to prove if it’s AI or not. It’s just that there is no evidence to back the claims but the counter evidence is right there.
At the end of the day, it all makes sense if fans think about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 being drowned in AI-generated content, however, even with solid-looking items like the Shattered Veil Zombies map’s logo. Zombies voice actor Julie Nathanson has left the project due to Activision not making a deal to protect their voice and talent against AI, and the recent exposure of AI-generated content in the game doubles down on it. It really is such a hard time to be a CoD fan now.
