Unlike last year’s MWZ, we’ve got the return of the round-based Zombies in Black Ops 6, meaning that throughout the year we’ll be receiving more maps rather than playing on a large playground the whole time. However, the release pattern for the Black Ops 6 Zombies maps leaves us waiting for months until DLC 2 drops later in 2025.
Black Ops 6 Zombies launched with 2 maps, and that’s a good-looking jewel of this game compared to the recent Call of Duty titles. Then, we had the third Zombies map before 2025 in Season 1 Reloaded in December, which was amazing. But, we’re in for a long ride until the next chapter of the BO6 Zombies story drops.
Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC Map 2 Release Date
If a new major Black Ops 6 Zombies update is released every 1.5 Season, the roadmap for the upcoming DLC 2 and the rest of the undead content is like this:
- DLC 2 Map: Season 3
- DLC 3 Map: Season 4.5
- DLC 4 Map: Season 6
So overall, we’ll get six maps, which is totally reasonable considering that Treyarch is working on Call of Duty 2025 as well. However, is there any extra content in the game until the next map drops? The answer is most probably yes, as there will be extra perks, GobbleGums, and maybe even a new game mode like Grief coming to the game. Take these with a grain of salt, though; nothing is confirmed.
Looking at the current Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Battle Pass countdown, Season 2 starts on January 28, which is a long way until the next major update. Now if they decide to keep Season 2 a two-month-long run like they did with Season 1, we won’t be getting the new Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC 2 map until late March or maybe even April.
This is nearly 4.5 months from now, and that’s a long journey of emptiness with Zombies if they don’t add anything like Grief that updates the current playlist. But who knows, fingers crossed, maybe we can get our hands on the Citadelle des Morts follow-up on Season 2 Reloaded, right? As of right now, nothing is confirmed by Activision or Treyarch.
