Aside from an immersive Campaign that has me looking away from any store mannequins for a while, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is considered a pretty good Zombies therapy after what we’ve been through with Vanguard and the MWZ. And two months after release we’re going to get our first Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC map called Citadelle des Morts, which is rumored to feature new wonder weapons that’d help make Melee Macchiato an applicable choice.

According to the recent leaks by alanthethird_90 on X, all our guesses for the elemental swords coming with the Citadelle des Morts map are coming true. On the gossip level of things, at least. Now if that’s genuine and we’re about to get powerful melee wonder weapons weapons in Citadelle des Morts, that’s one big positive step toward making Treyarch’s new Zombies perk Melee Macchiato a perfect option to amplify that power.

Melee Macchiato is the only perk in the Black Ops 6 Zombies that’s never been featured in the previous titles, and its efficiency is totally based on what level you’re in. On early levels, you can punch away zombies with a cool animation by drinking this perk-a-cola. However, upon reaching 20+ levels, Melee Macchiato will lose its touch, making it a vulnerable choice to lose Essence for high-round runs and even boss fights.

However, the cool thing about this perk is that it amplifies your melee weapon’s power stats too. So if you’ve brought a baseball bat with you and pack-a-punch it to level 3, Melee Macchiato can buff your damage up to a certain level. Now imagine having this buff to a wonder weapon sword that’s coming with Citadelle des Morts map in Black Ops 6 Zombies in Season 1 Reloaded.

Combine all that with the Melee Macchiato augments, and I’ll probably buy this perk-a-cola first even before Juggernog. For instance, we’ve got Expresso which helps you do melee attacks faster, and then there’s the STRENGTH TRAINING that’s for one-punch killing zombies for a few higher rounds. What happens if we add these to an electric sword wonder weapon?! We’ll have to wait to find out.
