Next year, Marvel is putting Black Widow and Hawkeye back together in a new miniseries celebrating the duo’s 60th anniversary. The limited series comes from writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Paolo Villanelli. The Marvel creators will cover both the past and present over the four issues of the series. This includes Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton’s early espionage days, as well as diving into the current state of the Marvel heroes, like Romanoff’s recent bonding with a symbiote.
Black Widow And Hawkeye
Black Widow and Hawkeye have been gracing the pages of Marvel Comics for six decades. While the duo went their own ways from time to time, it is their adventures together that have made them a fan-favorite pair. Now, as Clint Barton becomes embroiled in an assassination plot that puts the United States on the brink of war with Madripoor, he only has one person he can trust. However, this time around, Natasha is packing a bit more of a punch with her symbiote.
Still, Romanoff and Barton find themselves falling back into their old ways easily. Until the past comes bleeding into this new case. Now, the faith and trust the two have for each other will be put to the ultimate test—all to save the future.
Celebrating 60 Years Of Action
Writer Stephanie Phillips is coming off some great work with Marvel’s Contest of Chaos and Cosmic Ghost Rider. Meanwhile, artist Paolo Villanelli is currently putting their signature touch on Captain Marvel: Dark Tempest. However, getting to tackle the relationship of Black Widow and Hawkeye is the opportunity of a lifetime for the duo. Phillips shared that she loved getting to really dive into the relationship these two Marvel heroes have, especially in the backdrop of a true spy thriller. Not to mention, it is in celebration of the 60th anniversary.
