A woman in Georgia reportedly threatened a couple with Immigration and Customs Enforcement after getting into an auto accident with them. According to the video’s caption, “We were on an incline and she let go of her breaks. As the car was coming down the hill, I honked to alert her, but she was too busy on the phone so her car hit mine.“
The video in question was posted to the social media platform TikTok and features a car accident that happened in Snelville, Georgia, between a white SUV and a red sedan. According to the caption, the white SUV had accidentally backed into the red sedan while on an incline, causing an accident on what appears to be a busy street. However, when inspecting the damage, the owner of the SUV became hostile towards the other drivers.
You can hear the SUV’s driver clearly say, “Ya’ll are hispanic. This is what ya’ll do,” followed by, “tell ICE to come and get you.” There are currently heightened tensions within the United States between the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and citizens. So, the woman’s statement bears a lot of weight.
The rest of the video features an argument between both parties involved in the crash while the driver of the SUV covered her license plate with her sweater. Eventually, after a short time of arguing and yelling expletives at one another, the SUV’s driver climbed back into her car and quickly sped off.
Georgia Drivers Argue After One Threatens the Other With ICE
While many comments under the video condemn the SUV driver’s actions, others also made comments about her skin tone. One of these comments said, “The fatigue is getting ANNOYING!!!,” while another read, “these people are always so aggressive 🙄 can’t even talk to them at all . Lotasha is racist ” call ice” now everyone is saying that [expletive].“
Within the comments, the original poster responds to these replies, explaining, “The reason I posted this video wasn’t because of the ‘car accident. It was because of how disheartening the racism is. You can’t fight racism with racism. We should be united in these moments, not divided. Please stop making racist comments on both sides. Racism is not okay on either side.” She also posted an update that further explains the situation, which also goes over the aftermath and what actions were taken.
Additional updates on the account show that the driver of the white sedan has since purchased a dashcam for her car. It is hoped that she does not have to undergo this situation ever again.
