BLACKPINK‘s Lisa is opening up about the realities of fame. After nearly a decade of being in the K-pop industry, the “Money” star, who just released her new album, Alter Ego, revealed she experienced her first big stalking incident last year. After returning home to South Korea, Lisa said she was met by a fan waiting outside her house. The situation made her so uncomfortable that she was forced to confront them to get them to leave.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa Comes Face to Face With Stalker
While appearing on the Thai radio talk show WOODY FM, BLACKPINK’s Lisa shared her experience of being stalked for the first time. She said she’s heard a lot of scary stories from her friends in the K-pop industry, most of whom were male. However, experiencing it herself was a new kind of terrifying.
It all started last year when Lisa returned to South Korea after a trip abroad. She said she’s used to fans waiting for her arrival at the airport. Although she thinks that’s “normal” since it’s in a public place, one fan took it too far by finding her address. “When I got home, I saw them waiting,” she recalled.
Lisa said the situation made her uneasy. Although she has walls surrounding her home, she noted they don’t offer too much security since they “aren’t that high.” On top of that, she had no one with her but her cats at the time. While she was scared to see the stalker waiting for her, Lisa managed to build up the courage to ask them to leave. “I told that person, ‘I’m really not comfortable with this,'” she said.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa approached the topic nicely by telling the fan they could meet her again, but somewhere publicly. “‘Showing up like this at my house, I feel uncomfortable,'” Lisa said.
Despite her request, the fan didn’t listen. Lisa revealed that she later saw that same person showing up to her house at night. “That’s when I really started to worry because I was completely alone,” she said.
Another Scary Incident
That wasn’t the only fan interaction that made BLACKPINK’s Lisa uncomfortable. She said she usually has her manager drive her to dance rehearsals. One time, they couldn’t pick her up, so Lisa decided to find her own ride to the studio. After contacting a taxi, Lisa left her house to enter the vehicle but was suddenly stopped by a fan right outside her home. “That person tried to get into my taxi by sticking their leg between the taxi door,” Lisa revealed, saying the experience “terrified” her.
Her Fame Continues to Skyrocket
BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s interview comes amid promotions for her appearance in The White Lotus, which premiered on Feb. 16. Her role in the show’s third season marked her big acting debut.
She’s also celebrating the release of her debut studio album, Alter Ego, which dropped on Feb. 28. The record is full of huge collaborations. From Doja Cat and Rosalia to Tyla and Megan Thee Stallion, Lisa recruited the biggest names in music for her debut solo project.
Following her Alter Ego promotions, Lisa will reunite with her fellow BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé for the group’s world tour. The trek will begin in South Korea in July and conclude six months later in January 2026 in Japan.
