Regardless, Lively felt the need to get something off her chest: She regrets ever making fun of Kate Middleton in her Betty Buzz ad.

A week before the Princess of Wales opened up about her health struggles, Lively referenced Middleton while promoting her beverage company, Betty Buzz. In the controversial ad, the actress is pictured lounging near a pool while holding a can of Betty Booze. She captioned the photo:

The Betty Buzz ad had clearly been poorly edited since it showed Middleton’s head on top of another woman’s body. Fans think the photoshop fail was meant to mock Kate after her Mother’s Day photo was pulled by news agencies for being “manipulated.” Since Middleton hadn’t been seen in public for a while, the photo sparked conspiracy theories about her whereabouts. Due to the drama, Lively apologized for causing “confusion” with her “amateur” editing skills.
